Are you getting enough potassium? Bananas are NOT the Best Source of Potassium.
One mineral of most people lacking when they want a low carbohydrate diet we’re gonna talk about the calcium in this video hello everyone my name is mike kola and i’ve been a personal trainer in gym owner for over 25 years and if this is your first time here hit that subscribe button if you want to turbocharge your weight loss efforts let’s talk about the tascam
You know i’m a big believer in eating a low carbohydrate diet for many reasons i think for one is probably the best weight loss lost option for most people i’ve done a lot of videos are gonna link them above on eating a low-carb diet for good health and for weight loss the problem is is that when people eliminate common foods that are high in potassium for example
Like bananas like bananas about a hundred calories it has 400 milligrams of potassium on average but when you’re eating a low-carb diet it might be you may not be eating bananas because you don’t want to spike it you don’t want to spike your insulin levels and you want to keep your blood sugar low and under control okay now the adequate intake for potassium is
About 4700 milligrams a day and that’s a lot of potassium so it can be a problem getting enough potassium if you’re eating a low carb type diet okay so that this is what i think you should do you want a lot of bang for your buck when it comes to eating your carbohydrate for example say you’re living in your car behind it to a hundred grams a day which is about 400
Calories so in my opinion a banana would be a poor choice socially you’re getting 25 grams of carbohydrates but you’re only getting 400 milligrams of potassium okay something that i would recommend for example are those fresh squeezed like whole pressed green drinks like like all vegetables all green vegetables you know like kale spinach things along the lines of
That celery for example if you look at the back of a bottle a fresh pressed green green juice it’ll be about 45 calories 45 to 50 calories but i’ll have upwards of 800 milligrams of a cast so for example for a hundred calories say you had 16 ounces of fresh-squeezed green juice you literally can get almost half your potassium with only 25 grams of carbohydrates so
That’s the type of food you want to eat you want to eat tons of vegetables tons of greens low glycemic type vegetables vegetables that are not gonna spike your blood sugar that a high in fiber that are actually low in net coffee i did a great video explaining where net carbs are net carbs are just a quick explanation all those type of cobble carbohydrates that will
Actually increase your blood sugar so you want to keep your net carbs on the low side okay so you pretty much when you’re eating low carb and you’re limiting your cohosh to only about 400 calories they have to be the most nutritious you know packed with vitamins and minerals and really really high in potassium so don’t make the mistake of eating a low carb and not
Getting enough potassium well take care i hope you enjoyed this video if you have any questions on potassium if you want to know all the foods at high potassium just drop me a line you know if you like this video give me a thumbs up and make sure you subscribe to my channel take care hope everyone’s having a wonderful day
