What’s up everyone!? I just want to say thank YOU for the 100 subscribers! Let’s make this channel huge!

At all how does it work stay tuned to find out how’s it going guys so thank you so much for the hundred subscribers there’s a very big milestone for me and if we could keep growing this channel and for those of you guys who don’t know my name is edmund and i enjoy making this videos about common questions patients have about medications so subscribe for more content

Thanks for watching adderall or the generic name is amphetamine dextroamphetamine is a medication common prescribed for adhd which is attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or narcolepsy which is basically the uncontrolled excessive daytime sleepiness so there are the two common fda indications for adderall so let’s talk about adhd so adhd is a condition where

Patients have difficulty focusing paying attention and/or hyperactive and impulsive behavior that affects their daily functions of life now it’s dear eyes that the reason why patients have adhd is that their neurons a.k their brain cells have low levels of norepinephrine and dopamine these are neurotransmitters are commonly found in your brain and the rest of your body

However in adhd patients their neurons from some ways somehow have low levels of this order not utilizing what neurotransmitter they have in their brain this is why they have those symptoms of like trouble focusing and hyperactive behavior etc now how does adderall work so we talked about an adhd you have low levels of norepinephrine and dopamine in your brain and

Sort adderall as basically increases those levels to help manage your symptoms now and there’s two different ways of how it actually is doing that the first way is that in your brain cells or your neurons you have little stores of dopamine and norepinephrine then your brain isn’t currently using so the adderall does basically encourages those stores of those neurons

Transverse to be released and for your brain to use them and that’s how it’s helping actually increase your levels of norepinephrine and dopamine second way is it’s very similar to that way except that it prevents or discourages your brain from making these little stores of norepinephrine and dopamine and for your brain to actually use those neurotransmitters so

There are two ways in which adderall helps increase your levels of dopamine and norepinephrine which also in turn helps you increase your focus and manages your symptoms no medication is perfectly all have they’re silent so let’s talk about the common side-effects of adderall so instead of me just listing all the side-effects let’s try to understand why you side

Effects are happening so first increase norepinephrine so increase norepinephrine in can be understood as like an adrenaline or a general rush so what’s typically seen in an adrenaline rush increased heart rate increased blood pressure which might also cause ink increased chance of headache also insomnia or trouble sleeping and in regards to the dopamine aspect

Dopamine has a lot of roles and functions in your body they have to do what your mood and appetite we’re adding it to in death until or dopamine does but in regards to adderall dopamine does cause a decrease appetite which is diese also to be because of the fact that you have higher dopamine you have higher satisfaction and you don’t crave food as much as you

Normally would which is why we see in some patients that have decreased appetite when they’re on a draw so that’s basically how adderall works if you guys enjoy this video please give me a big thumbs up and i’m really excited about the 100 subscribers my next goal is to reach 500 subscribers so you guys are new here please subscribe i really appreciate it and i’ll see you guys next time
